Breast Lift

Dr. Bell performs breast lifts, also known as mastopexy, at his accredited surgical facility in Toronto. The goal of a breast lift is to raise and firm up the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue. This reshapes and supports the new breast contour.

Rejuvenating Your Appearance With A Breast Lift

Over time, a woman’s breasts often change, losing their youthful shape and firmness. These changes and loss of skin elasticity can result from such factors as pregnancy, breastfeeding and weight fluctuations. Aging, heredity, and, of course, gravity are all potential causes of this change.

A breast lift can revitalize your figure with a breast profile that is youthful and uplifted.

NOTE: Breast lift surgery does not significantly change the size of your breasts or round out the upper part of your breast. If you want your breasts to look fuller or smaller, you might wish to discuss with Dr. Bell other surgical options of breast augmentation or breast reduction surgery at his accredited cosmetic surgical facility in Toronto

A breast lift may be worth considering if:

  • One breast is lower than the other
  • Your breasts have a flatter, elongated shape or are pendulous

In Your Discussion With Dr. Bell, he will want to know about:

  • Use of current medications
  • History of previous surgeries
  • Any history of breast cancer in your family
  • What you expect and the outcome you are hoping for
  • The results of any mammograms or previous biopsies
  • Any medical conditions or drug allergies you have, as well as any recent medical treatments

Your Breast Lift Procedure

There are a variety techniques and incision placements available to carry out your breast lift operation. How best to proceed with your breast lift surgery will be ultimately determined by Dr. Bell, based, in part, on: your breast size and shape as well as the level of sagging in the breast, and skin quality and elasticity.

The general process of your breast lift surgery is essentially the same, regardless of surgical technique and incision placements chose n by Dr. Bell. He will lift the breast tissue and reposition the nipples to complete your breast lift surgery. In some cases the size of enlarged areolas can be reduced to further improve the surgical result.

The results of your breast lift surgery, performed by Dr. Bell, are immediately visible. Your new figure will have a breast profile that is firm and taut.

Recovering From Breast Lift Surgery

After your breast lift procedure is completed by Dr. Bell at his clinic in Toronto, dressings or bandages will be applied to the incisions to ensure a smooth recovery. You’ll need to wear an elastic bandage or support bra to minimize swelling and support your breasts as they heal.

Dr. Bell Will Counsel You:

Dr. Bell will explain how to care for your breasts following surgery at his Toronto clinic, prescribe any medications to apply or take orally, to assist the healing process, and will schedule your follow-up at his Toronto clinic.

Special note: While a breast lift does not usually affect breast function, if you are planning to become pregnant, discuss this with Dr. Bell during your consultation his Toronto clinic. Changes that occur in the breasts during pregnancy can minimize or reverse the improvement a breast lift provides. Likewise, plans for significant weight loss should also be discussed.
