Liposuction is a procedure performed by Dr. Bell at his accredited surgical facility. Liposuction targets specific areas of the body for reshaping, by removing excess fat deposits. The object is to improve your body contours and proportion, and ultimately, enhance your self-image.
Liposuction techniques, performed by Dr. Bell at his Toronto clinic, may be used to reduce localized fat deposits in the following areas:
- Chest area
- Inner knee
- Upper arms
- Calves and ankles
- Hips and buttocks
- Abdomen and waist
- Cheeks, chin and neck
Your Liposuction Consultation
Dr. Bell will listen to your reasons for wanting liposuction, what your expectations are and what outcome you hope to achieve during your procedure at his Toronto clinic.
He will ask about issues such as any medical conditions and drug allergies that you may have as well as any medical treatments that you have had in the past.
Dr. Bell May Want To :
- Take photographs for your medical record
- Evaluate your general health, including any pre-existing health conditions
- Discuss your options and develop a course of treatment that is right for you
Tumescent liposuction is done in two steps. In the first step, a sterile liquid is pumped in to reduce bleeding and trauma as a result of suctioning out excess fat. A thin hollow tube, technically known as a cannula, is then inserted through these incisions to dislodge excess fat using a controlled back and forth motion. Then, the dislodged fat is then suctioned out of the body using a surgical vacuum.
Recovery From Your Liposuction Surgery
Once Dr. Bell completes your procedure, a compression garment or elastic bandages may cover the treated areas, to help ensure healing. These help to adjust the skin to your new body contours, the result of your liposuction procedure at Dr. Bell’s accredited cosmetic surgical facility in Toronto.
Dr. Bell will caution that a significant weight gain can reverse your results.
